World Card Making Day

For World Card Making Day October 6th. I had some friends over to be crafty with me. I like to have examples made up but as always its free to interpretation and alteration since everyone like to be creative.
Only the ribbon in these two cards is not from Stampin' Up! Cardstock- Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White. Jumbo Wheel- Batty For You, Stamp Set- Haunting Halloween. Watercolour Pencils and Blender Pens used for the image colouring. Embellishments- Rhinestone brads, gold embossing powder.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! Stamp Sets- Autumn Fest and Holidays & Wishes. Cardstock- Old Olive (top card) Pumpkin Pie (above card) and Whisper White. Ink- Old Olive, Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip. Versamark pen with detail gold embossing powder used on leaves. Gold Brads. Ribbon- Chocolate Chip.

This card is a case from one I saw on Splitcoast Stampers. I did a couple of things different but I loved the look of it so much, it is a beautiful card that can be given to anyone for just about any occasion. I'm thinking about doing a similiar one in blue and white for the holidays.
All supplies are from Stampin' Up! Stamp Set- Lovely As A Tree, Very Vanilla cardstock, Sahara Sand and Chocolate Chip classic ink, Always Artichoke marker.

Journals

Little 5 X 5 journal for notes, i'll be giving this away to my soon to be Sister-In-Law so she can keep track of wedding plans. You can't see in the picture very well but the paper has a bit of glitter in the center of the flowers- really subtle and pretty.
Journal, ribbon, chipboard letter and yellow paper all by Stampin' Up! the paper is from DCWV

This is my inspiration journal. I'm using it to write down all of the ideas, sketches,
colour combinations and photographs I want to remember for card making and scrapbooking pages.
Journal and stitched ribbon is from Stampin' Up! The paper is by We R Memories Urban Window Collection.

First Altered Tin

I made this a while back for my new cousin Harry, its a memory box with dividers for photos, stories etc. It was very easy to do and turned out super cute :) I've made a couple others that are similiar for other friends that have had babies this past summer. I enjoyed making them so much that i'm thinking about some as Christmas gifts- they would be great for recipes, cards etc.

Aly's Album

I have finally started to work on pages for my daughter's album last weekend, here are a couple i've had the chance to photograph, more will be coming :) I am a very simple scrapbooker but I love being able to share my memories with family and friends.

This page is kind of a cheat.
It's a beautiful patterned paper with quotes about motherhood and I just cropped a pic and pasted :)

Another patterned paper, I stamped "family" randomly in white craft ink from Stampin' Up! and added the little paper flowers.

Panama City 2004 Pages

I'm sorry some of these pictures are cut off a bit, but I figured after so long its better then nothing. I did these pages a while ago but I'm getting back in the creative groove and I need to share some pages i'm proud of :)

May 11th Card Night

I really love these long cards and since this stamp set will be retiring this year I thought it deserved to take center stage at this card night.
Stamp Sets: Stampin' Up! Fishy Friends, Happy Everything and the background is a stamp from the set Polka dots and Paisley.
Colours: Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, So Saffron.
Also used is Dazzling Diamond Glitter from Stampin' Up! and the bubbles are from little finishing accents by Darice.

Here is a better close up of the fishy, you can really see the glitter and the bubbles look more sparkly in real life.

Stamp Set: Simple Sayings II and the Kindness Jumbo Wheel. Colours: Elegant Eggplant and Lavender Lace.
We also used the daisy punch and silver brads to accent.

This card is very simple but I am a huge fan of monocramatic so I couldn't resist. Stamps: Butterfly- Anna Griffin All Night Media, background is from the Rubber Cafe.
Colours: Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa.
Torn edges with a bit of sponging in Chocolate chip and this card is simple but very pretty.

Bridal Party Bellas

My wonderful friend Amanda is getting married this summer and i'm lucky enough to be included in the Bridal Party. Since one of the bridesmaids is out of town until days before the wedding (Ali is in Africa!) we all met up in Edmonton to have a stagette party back in March. It was a blast!
So with that in mind I knew I just had to use this stamp set to create something for us as a keepsake of all the good times we had at the stagette and will have at the wedding. They are photo holders, to keep our favorite photos of the festivites. I just took out the cardboard insert and decorated these cute fronts. I also included some tabs so that if the girls want to divide their pics up into stagette, shower, wedding they can :)
Photo holder I picked up at Superstore. Stamp Set- Bridalpartybellas by Stamping Bella. Coloured in using blender pens and Elegant Eggplant and Lovely Lilac. Dots and Daisies background by Stampin' Up! Colours are Bazill and I believe they are Fairy Dust and Pansy? I'm sorry I can't recall, but they're the colours of Amanda's invites, favours etc. I used some Dazzling Diamond Glitter to add a bit of bling. (if you click on the top pic it will come up really big and you can see how pretty it really is)
I sent these out at the end of last week, i've had them made up for a few weeks now but its been impossible to get to the post office- My most sincere apologies!!

Card Night Friday April 13th

Friday the 13th of April was a very fun Card Night. We had the regular "club" members, seasoned stampers and scrappers and some newbies.

The above card is found right in the beginning of the Stampin' Up! catalogue. The only difference is the colours used and the ribbon. I really like this hostess stamp set and this colour combo. Stamp Set- Reasons to smile. Colours- Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Taken with Teal and Tempting Turquoise.

Oh I had so much fun making this card. I enjoy the long card they're interesting to work with since its out of my normal thinking strategy for a card.
Stamp Set- Wild About You. Colours- Regal Rose, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, and Pretty in Pink. Blue Gingham Ribbon. All circles were done with punches from Stampin' Up!

This card is also another hostess set which I really like working with. Very pretty! The background has small flowers and dots on it and the center of the flowers have dazzling diamond glitter. Kind of hard to see in the picture, it shines and looks like rain falling in real life. The inside quote says "Friendship is the shelter to life's little storms".
Stamp Sets- Dots and Daisies (retired background) and Blooming with Happiness. Colours- Barely Banana, and Bashful Blue.

March 30th Card Night

Here are the 3 cards that we made last Friday. All materials are from Stampin' Up!
"Hoppy for you" Frog image from the Sell-a-bration set Very Punny. Colours- Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Real Rust and Cool Carribean.
"Bugs and Kisses" Bugs and Kisses stamp setl. Colours- Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore, Gable Green and black. As with many of my other cards you can not see that this background is also covered in stamps using Real Red ink.
"Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much" I really like this card it all fold up and you can tie a ribbon around to keep it closed when you send it. Stamp set is Spring Garden. Colours- Mellow Moss, Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Brocade Blue.

To See The World....

A fairly simple card but I really like the quote and the gold leaves embossed look really sharp. You can't see that the green background also has leaves stamped on it. I think this card could use a small bit of gold thread in between the two eyelets at the bottom of the quote but I didn't have any handy.
I don't know who the quote stamp is by the solid leaf image is by Penny Black. All other materials are Stampin' Up!

Birthday Beauty

A simple card birthday card and tag that we made for the 2yr old birthday party this weekend. You can't see it in the picture but the Beauty Queen's tiara, sash, shoes and the "S" on the tag are all glittery.
Beauty Queen stamp set, Pretty in Pink cardstock, and Dazzling Diamonds glitter from Stampin' Up! The gorgeous paisley printed paper is from Close to My Heart.

Picture Frame

This is a picture frame I created from an idea in the Stampin' Up! main catalogue. On page 145 with the Bugs & Kisses set there is a picture frame. I've altered it to suit a little girl who's birthday party we went to this past weekend. The frame was painted with acrylic paints and decorated with various dots & dashes ribbon, all from Michael's. I stamped the caterpilliar and word images on white cardstock, sponged with Pretty in Pink Ink and layered on Pretty in Pink cardstock. I've done other frames similiar to this, i'll have to get the pics to share with you.

Dance

Here is a little card that I did to send out East to a friend that just moved out to Montreal. It isn't the best picture but I wanted to put it up 'cause I was very happy how it turned out. After stamping and layering the main quote I embossed with silver the little flourish on the courners and it looks very pretty in real life.
Quote says " Dance like no one is watching, Sing like no one can hear you, Love like you've never been hurt before, Live like its Heaven here on Earth"
Main Stamp Image is Penny Black, all other supplies are Stampin' Up! Printed paper and Little flourish stamp are from the Winter Mini Catalogue Carte Postale stamp set and coordinating printed paper line. Perfect Plum cardstock and Ink.

Supporting Canadian Troops

I bought Causabella with an idea in mind for my StepMom Karen, she walks the Weekend to End Breast Cancer every year. Since she may be reading this I won't divulge what exactly I have in store but it'll be great and I'll share it here when I'm eventually done.
I was playing last night with Causabella and agonizing over the right shade of pinks to use, because I was focused on using her for Breast Cancer. Then it dawned on me that this was Causabella- that meant she stood for all Causes. Duh! Michelle. So I decided to leave the multitude of pink cardstock, markers, etc for another time and come up with another worthy cause.
I was reminded of Chloe's yellow ribbon on Saturday as she was off to see Jesse graduate from his training. Even though I love monochromatic colour schemes Causabella needs to punch it up a bit because well, just look at her, she's all about being seen and heard. In Canada we have red Fridays where you wear red to show the support of our Canadian Troops, thus the inspiration for this newest Bella card.
Image is by Stamping Bella. All other supplies are Stampin' Up! Soft Swirls background and Small Script stamp set. Colours are Real Red and So Saffron.

Bella Craze!

After eagerly stalking the mail box my bellas have arrived! These super hot little stamps are so cute and fun! This is cosmobella. I decided that she would grace the cover of a sassy collection of my favorite bevi's. Can you see the tabs on the far right side, they mark the catagories for the drinks. I had a great time making this, more bella's to come in the following week!

Bella image is by Stamping Bella (follow the link on the side and become an addictabella) Printed Paisley Paper is by Chatterbox. All other Supplies are Stampin' Up! 5x5 coil ring journal, Punches used for paper around coil ring and punches used for the tabs at the side. Baby Blue Gingham Ribbon. Colours are Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Ruby Red.

Wild About You

This card was inspired by the extreamly talented Amy who's blog is Prairie Paper & Ink. Here is a link to a card I fell in love with back in November and just finally got around to casing this past week. http://prairiepaperandink.typepad.com/amyr/2006/11/index.html Since I do so much in girly colours I figured I'd challenge myself and be inspired by this great combo of buttons I had arrive in a recent order. I'm loving the long cards. I plan to design a few for the next card night.
All supplies are Stampin' Up! Stamp Sets: Wild About You and Print Pattern Background. Colours are Not Quite Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Certain Celery, and Apricot Appeal. The buttons come as the Fresh Favorites I combo.

A Little Slow.....

but i'm working on it! The card here is featuring some of the hot trends in cardmaking. Long cards and the wonderful scalloped circle. I have not been hiding under a rock, its just been a matter of getting some time to actually make them. I'm very happy with how this card turned out. Quote on the inside- "Happiness is when what you THINK, what you SAY, and what you DO are in Harmony" Gandhi This stamp is from the Happy Harmony set Stampin' Up! offered during their Sell-a-bration this year.

Supplies: Butterfly stamp- All Night Media. Happiness stamp- Stampin' Up! warm words set. Cardstock and Ink is Barely Banana and Basic Black. Black and Black gingham ribbon all Stampin' Up!

Card Night

Here is a preview of the 3 cards we will be doing for $10 on Friday March 9th at a card class i'm teaching. These cards have been inspired by some of the wonderful artwork i've seen on SCS (splitcoaststampers)
Supplies- all Stampin' Up! products. The stamp set in the above pictures are from the new Spring Mini catalogue that begins March 1st.

Addicted to Quotes

Well the light in this was all natural and really cast a blue tone on the white paper behind my card. The picture is just ok, but I love my card. I have a thing for quotes, been collecting them for ages. Once I started my stamping obsession it was only second nature that I gather stamps with quotes that inspire and speak to me.
Supplies: Main Image stamp- Sm. Reaching Out by Stampinton & Company Background Stamp- Old Script by The Old Island Stamp Company. Morning Marigold Cardstock and Ink, So Saffron cardstock and brads, Apricot and Mustard ribbon all by Stampin' Up!
The inside quote: The pursuit of truth will lead one into the darkest corners of the human spirit, which begs the servant willing to carry the brightest light. Stamp is from Postmodern Design.

I love Sunflowers!

Sunflowers are my favorite flower by far so of course I fell in love with the SU! Serene Sunflower set. I guess because of the colours its more like a gerbra daisy. Which I also adore. This is the colour of the gerbra daisies in my wedding flowers. This picture isn't the greatest- I think i'll have to start photographing with a white background. The colours are Chocolate Chip and Rose Red.

Perennial Favorites

Here is a card that I made a while ago. But I love it so it had to be on here. All product is Stampin' Up! The stamp set is Perennial Favorites. The colours used were Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, So Saffron, and Ballet Blue.

I must be crazy....

to think that i'll be able to keep up with posting on two blogs! One is to keep family and friends updated on the adventures of my daughter Alyssa but I feel that it is necessary to give a stage to my cardmaking and scrapbooking. I think it will help keep me inspired to create more often when I have a bit of an audience.

Oh well here goes......
